ROCKAWAY CLAY AND GLASS
An Artist, Instructor, and Life-long Learner
Making art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Far Rockaway, New York, and was encouraged to pursue art by my mother, who was an interior designer. During my time at Hope College in Holland, Michigan while working toward a bachelor’s in fine arts with a concentration in sculpture, I was able to explore multiple artistic media and began to learn the art of ceramics. I left school to study textile design but continued to enjoy learning and teaching ceramic art through the years. A little more than 10 years ago, while teaching ceramics at an art center in Chicago, I began to study the art of glass fusing by reading and experimenting with many different techniques. I shared my love for working with glass with many people during classes at the art center.
I have now been offering group lessons, private lessons, and parties at my home studio in Frankfort, Illinois since 2017. I am happy to work with students of all ages and help them to make their creative ideas come to life. Whether you want to explore clay (hand-building or wheel throwing), glass fusing, or a mixture of both, I am here to help guide you in your artistic endeavors!
